Product Description
Crawler Innovations was the first to combine closed cell and open cell foam into one package. The Lil’ Nova Foams have been around since the beginning and are made from the best compounds available. The Lil’ Nova Dual Stage Foam design is for all high-performance applications where grip and traction are essential. Available in a variety of compounds and sizes, the Lil’ Nova Crawler Foams are the perfect addition for your new tires.

These inserts feature a Competition Cut, closed cell inner foam, with a Medium conventional or open cell density outer foam. The closed cell inner foam is super dense, water proof, is not temperature sensitive and is extremely durable. The conventional outer foam is not temperature sensitive, but it is not water proof.
The "Comp Cut" inner has three grooves machined into the area where the outer and inner meet. The machined grooves allow for the outer foam to collapse into them resulting in a much more responsive tire.
The 4.75" is the tallest inner in the Lil' Nova Dual Stage foam line and designed for tall 1.9 tires and heavier rc vehicles.

I have the medium up front and the firm in the rear on my truck. They did great all around on various types of obstacles at my local shop’s course.

Great foam and easy to install

I keep saying the same thing... but these are easy to install. They hold up well. I have them in two sets of tires and plan to keep using these tires. I may use the medium foams in front and rear in the future as my current rig is a little heavier than usual.

run 4.50 for 4.75 tires...

the foams are great. I feel like the 4.5 foams may have been better in my 4.75 Rockbeast XL's. not a fault of the foams tho. they fit 4.75's great. i just feel like running the 4.50's would have given me more of the performance i was looking for. All in all, great foams tho! ill just need to keep it in mind on my next set...

After a long time away from crawling, I got the itch to build another crawler. After purchasing a new rig. I invested in the latest greatest crawler tires I could find, but I really wasn’t impressed with their over all performance. I started doing some research and found that foam technology had progressed quite a bit in the 8 years I had been away. I found Crawler Innovations videos on You Tube explaining the benefits of their duel stage Lil Nova foams. I ordered up a set of comp cut inners with soft outers for the front and comp cut inners with medium outers for the rear. Installed them in my new tires that had left me unimpressed and WOW! What a difference. My new crawler really came alive with the addition of the the Lil Nova foams. The ability of my rig increased dramatically. Side hilling was where I noticed the biggest improvement. The tires didn’t roll over on themselves any more. The firmer foam really supports the side wall and the soft outer foam allows the tread to bite and grip the rock face. With standard open cell foam, the tires couldn’t really do either action well. I’m sold to say the least!

These are the best foams

As soon as I mounted them I knew these were going to be great. I always get the comp cut style, even on my heavy rigs they hold the tire without folder, you can't go wrong with them.

These work perfectly in the 1.9 hyrax tires. I also have the soft outers in the same tires on my rig and a good combination.

Better clearance, made my tread do work better sidehilling. Now CI foams I'm 3/4 rigs. Ones losi Mrc that don't have them.
